Terms of Use

Welcome to the Global Kindness Map. By using the site or sharing a story, you agree to these terms. The short version: be kind, be honest, and only share what you have the right to share.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian’s permission before sharing a story.

Your stories

You keep ownership of what you share. By submitting a story, photo or video link, you give Global Kindness a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, display and share it on the site and on our social media channels, usually with your first name and country, to promote the project. You can ask us at any time to remove your story from the site and from future use. We cannot always take back things that have already been shared elsewhere, such as a post that others have copied.

You promise that:

• your story is true, and is your own experience or one you have permission to share
• you own, or have permission to use, any photo you upload
• anyone who is clearly identifiable in your photo is happy for it to be shared

The rules

Please do not share anything that includes:

• hate, harassment or threats
• sexual, violent or graphic content
• private information about other people, such as addresses, phone numbers or surnames
• photos showing a child’s face without a parent or guardian’s permission
• adverts, spam, or promotion of a business or product
• false or misleading claims, or anything illegal

Review and removal

We read every story and every new challenge before it goes live. We may fix small spelling mistakes, and we can reject or remove any story, challenge, photo or link at any time, for any reason, including if it does not fit the spirit of the site.

Challenges and chains

Kindness challenges are invitations, not obligations. Take part only in ways that are safe for you and others, and never pressure anyone to join. Only nominate people who would welcome it. Nomination links are personal and each works once. Please do not spam them, and do not try to bypass how they work.

Links and other services

The site may link to or embed other services, such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

No guarantees

We do our best to keep the site running, but it is provided “as is”, and we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site or from acting on content other people have shared.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
